⚡ Quick Answer

Kubota lists the BX2680’s base weight with ROPS at 1,521 lb. Kubota doesn’t say whether that figure is dry weight, or whether it includes fluids or an operator, so don’t treat it as a fueled, loader-equipped, or shipping weight. Kubota’s own limits for this tractor are 1,765 lb of trailer payload, 2,425 lb total trailer weight, and 739 lb of loader lift at the pivot pin with the LA344 loader.

If you’re sizing a trailer, planning a loader, or checking whether a mower deck is within limits, you need the BX2680’s real numbers, and some of what’s online is wrong. This guide uses Kubota’s own spec sheet, brochure, and implement-limit document, shows both values where Kubota’s documents disagree, and marks what Kubota doesn’t publish.

Kubota BX2680 Weight

Item Kubota-Listed Value Notes
Base weight (w/ ROPS) 1,521 lb The detailed spec sheet calls it “Base Weight.” The brochure calls it “Tractor weight (w/ROPS).”
Weight in kg Brochure prints 670 kg 1,521 lb works out to about 690 kg by our math, so the brochure’s kg figure doesn’t match its lb figure. Use the lb figure.
Dry or shipping weight Not stated Kubota doesn’t define the base weight as dry or shipping weight.
Fluids, fuel, operator included? Not stated Don’t assume any of them are included.
RCK54-23BX mid-mount mower (deck only) 210 lb (95 kg) Deck weight, not an equipped-tractor weight.
RCK60B-23BX mid-mount mower (deck only) 250 lb (115 kg) Deck weight, not an equipped-tractor weight.
Backhoe Not available Kubota’s implement-limit document says you cannot attach backhoes to the tractor.

Use the weight carefully

Kubota doesn’t publish a combined weight for the BX2680 with the LA344 loader, a mower deck, or fluids and an operator. If you need a transport or ramp weight, weigh the actual machine on a scale instead of adding numbers from different documents.

Dimensions

Dimension Kubota-Listed Value
Wheelbase 55.1 in. (1,400 mm)
Overall length, without three-point hitch 83.5 in.
Overall length, with three-point hitch 95.5 in. (2,425 mm)
Overall width, minimum tread 45.1 in. (1,145 mm)
Height, ROPS up 83.0 in. (detailed spec sheet); 83.1 in. (2,110 mm) (brochure)
Minimum ground clearance 6.5 in. (detailed spec sheet)
Ground clearance, front axle 8.4 in. (213 mm) (brochure table)

The brochure’s narrative text says 8.9 inches for the BX2680 while its own table shows 8.4 inches. We show the labeled table value. The 6.5 in. and 8.4 in. figures measure different spots, so they don’t conflict. Height with ROPS folded was not found.

Engine & Fuel Tank

Item Kubota-Listed Value
Engine Kubota D1005, 3-cylinder diesel, 1,001 cc (61.1 cu. in.)
Gross horsepower 24.8 hp at 3,200 rpm (spec sheet and brochure)
PTO horsepower 19.5 hp at 3,200 rpm
Fuel tank 6.6 US gal (25 L)

A dealer-reproduced copy of operator manual information lists 25.5 gross hp instead of 24.8 hp. We couldn’t tie the difference to a production year, so we quote the official spec sheet and flag the other number.

Lift, Loader & Towing Limits

Three-Point Hitch

  • At the lift points: 1,213 lb (detailed spec sheet); Kubota’s implement-limit document lists 1,210 lb (550 kg) as the maximum load at the lower-link ends
  • 24 inches behind the lift points: 680 lb (310 kg)

Front Loader

Loader Lift at pivot pin, max height Lift at 500 mm forward, max height
LA344 (pin-on) 739 lb (335 kg) 509 lb (231 kg)
LA344S (quick attach) 613 lb (278 kg) 423 lb (192 kg)

Kubota’s implement-limit table gives the same 739 lb maximum loader lifting capacity for the BX2680 with a 48 inch maximum bucket width, and notes that the value includes the weight of Kubota’s standard bucket. So 739 lb is not extra payload on top of the bucket.

Towing (Trailers)

  • W3, trailer loading weight: 1,765 lb (800 kg). This is the load only, not counting the trailer.
  • W4, trailer total weight: 2,425 lb (1,100 kg). This includes the trailer’s own weight.
  • W2, maximum hitch load: 550 lb (250 kg)

The detailed spec sheet shows “Tow Rating, Maximum 1,765 lb” in short form. Kubota’s implement-limit document clarifies that this is the payload, not the total loaded trailer. Kubota also says to reduce speed and trailer loads on slippery ground or slopes when using front-wheel drive.

Ballast With a Loader

The dealer-reproduced BX operator manual material says: “When using the front loader, put an implement or ballast on the 3-point hitch to improve stability,” and points owners to the attachment manual for proper ballasting. We could not verify a Kubota number for how much rear ballast the BX2680 with the LA344 needs, so don’t use a figure from a forum or from another BX model.

For general ballast options, see our guide to choosing tractor ballast weights.

🔧 Hitch, Ballast & Safety Gear:

Check each listing against Kubota’s limits above before you order.

SpeeCo Category 1 Quick Hitch (2,000 lb)

Confirm your tractor’s hitch category in your manual. The hitch adds its own weight to what the 3-point must lift (Kubota lists 1,213 lb at the lift points).

What We Could Not Verify

  • Dry, shipping, or operating weight: Kubota doesn’t define its base weight that way, and no operating-weight figure was found.
  • Combined weights: no Kubota figure for the BX2680 with the LA344 or LA344S loader, a mower deck, or the LA240 loader.
  • Front and rear axle weight split: not published in the sources we found.
  • Rear ballast amount: no verified numeric requirement for the BX2680 with a loader.
  • Weight changes by production year or serial range: none found. The mismatched kg figure, the height rounding, and the clearance and horsepower differences look like document discrepancies, not proof of a production change.
  • Height with ROPS folded: not found.

🔎 How We Verified This Page

Specs come from Kubota’s BX2680 Detailed Specifications sheet, the BX1880/BX2380/BX2680/BX23S brochure (Cat. No. 2317-01-US, October 2017), and Kubota’s BX80 Series Implement Limitations document, all published on kubotausa.com. The horsepower, ground clearance, and ballast statements also reference dealer-reproduced operator manual material, which is labeled where used.

Where Kubota’s documents disagree, we show both values. Where Kubota doesn’t say, we say so instead of borrowing a number from the BX2380, BX1880, or any other model.
